Why Dogs Need Time Outside.
Apr 5th 2019
Listen up, pet owners. It's time to get dogs off the couch and out of the house - with or without you.
Like us, dogs can't stay inside all day. They need sunshine to warm up their souls. They need fresh air. They need socialization with other animals; and most importantly, they need an opportunity to play; stretch; and get exercise.
Pet owners may not appreciate the importance of outdoor activity for dogs. Young dogs need at least 30 minutes of outdoor time each day to maintain strong bones and healthy joints. This number increases to an hour per day as the dog ages; and with exercise, will help keep dogs strong during their life cycle.
Dogs that do not get sufficient exercise risk health complications including arthritis, high blood pressure, lethargy and pet obesity.
Pet owners that are able to fence in the yard should do so for animals to play anytime they please. Play dates at local dog parks are also a must to improve animal wellness.
Over all, when dogs are outside, they are happy. They are making friends and bonding with their owners.
So, again, get your dog outside. It's much better than watching TV, anyway.
