In the below video, a veterinarian in Alberta states that Alberta used to be a tick-free province; but now, dogs of all kinds are more than capable of being bitten by ticks.
Ticks affect over 300,000 individuals each year in the United States; and as climate change takes its toll on the world, more ticks are moving northbound to seek cooler weather (sorry, Canada). Tick diseases are not just a problem for people, but are a major concern for pets and wildlife in the spring and summer months.
