Keep Groundhogs Out of Gardens

Feb 1st 2019

Oh, groundhogs - cute, chubby, and at first glance, innocent. However, gardeners know the truth behind those beady brown eyes.

Groundhogs are one of the most destructive garden critters that help to contribute to millions of dollars in loss crops each year. They create a challenge for gardeners looking to protect their growing sites because of their chewing, digging and tunneling abilities.

For this reason, growers will need to install a steel fence with PVC-coating to protect gardening areas. The best way to reduce the number of groundhogs in gardens is to trench the fence at least 12 inches into the ground. Trenching a plastic fence will not be strong enough to stop the chewing capabilities of the groundhog.

Gophers are trouble. Keep them out of lawns and gardens now!
