Dogs In Canada Animal Shelters

Oct 2nd 2019

In 2017, 33,000 dogs entered into Canadian shelters. Of those, 41 percent were strays that are considered homeless dogs without a home to contact. While the number of dogs that have entered into Canadian animal shelters has declined from previous years, animal enthusiasts are urged to adopt from local animal shelters to reduce the number to zero! With adoption, these animals risk euthanization.

ASPCA declares October to be Adopt a Shelter Dog Month. The dogs that enter into Canadian humane societies are not always dogs with behavioral problems; but instead, dogs that were abandoned or abused physically and emotionally.

This October, consider pet adoption from a local animal shelter near you. DeerbustersCanada will award extra discounts on dog fence kits for those individuals that adopt shelter dogs in October. Join DeerbustersCanada and other animal shelters in the fight to get dogs out of animal shelters and into loving homes.
